Challenge Prize

The workshop will offer a unique opportunity for participants to build international collaboration with researchers from partner countries and from other disciplines

Participants will have the opportunity to form collaborative interdisciplinary teams who will work together to develop project proposals for a pilot study for the energy-efficient retrofit of an Egyptian MSM and bid for a grant to fund their research.

Selected Challenge Prize teams will be funded to work on their pilot study and will be advised by a team of international academics who will help guide and shape their project.


Key Information

Theme: Prizes will involve the formulation of a project proposal under the theme “Climate Adaptation of Egypt’s MSMs through energy retrofit: A future-fit approach”. 

Timeline: Teams will have 4 weeks to develop proposals, detailing a work plan achievable < 6 months. 

Funding: Up to £6,500 (>140,000 EGP) will be awarded to each of the winning teams

  • The Challenge Prize is only open to CRESMI Workshop Participants
  • Participants should form collaborative interdisciplinary teams
  • Each Team should include a maximum 8 of people
  • All teams must include members from both the UK & Egypt& should aim for a gender balance
